Eden Prairie, MN — December 2025 — MORA is pleased to announce that it has received a $1,000 grant from the Eden Prairie AM Rotary Club to support an accessibility improvement project at its Westgate residential home.
The grant will help fund the expansion of the wheelchair ramp in Westgate Home’s garage, a critical upgrade that will improve safety and ease of access for the home’s residents. All four residents at Westgate Home use wheelchairs, making a safe and functional ramp essential for daily mobility.
Westgate’s residents thrive on community engagement and regularly participate in outings, medical appointments, and other essential activities. Currently, the existing ramp space presents challenges when residents are entering and exiting the home. Expanding the garage ramp will allow for smoother, safer, and more efficient movement, reducing physical strain and safety risks for both residents and caregivers and supporting residents’ wellbeing and quality of life.
“This project will have a meaningful impact on the daily lives of our Westgate residents,” said Heather Guerin, MORA’s Director of Development, “Reliable and accessible transportation is key to independence, health, and community involvement.”
The ramp expansion project reflects MORA’s ongoing commitment to accessibility, safety, and inclusion. By improving infrastructure at Westgate Home, MORA aims to increase opportunities for residents to engage with the community and live fuller, more independent lives.
MORA extends its sincere gratitude to the Eden Prairie AM Rotary Club for their generosity and support of this important project.
